Rislone® Oil Seal™ – Reduces Oil Consumption and Seals Valve Stem Seals
Art. No.: 44223 | 500 ml (4 pcs. per carton)
Rislone Oil Seal™ is an advanced engine oil additive that reduces and stops both internal and external oil consumption. The product is ideal for engines that consume up to one liter of oil per day and is approved for all types of engine oils, including long-life oils.
Benefits:
-
Reduces oil consumption for vehicles that need to top up between oil changes
-
Stops oil burning that can damage the intake, turbo, exhaust system, and sensors
-
Repairs valve stem seals and reduces blue exhaust smoke
-
Reduces environmental impact and maintenance costs
-
Compatible with all common valve guide designs and seal materials, including:
-
O-ring, Umbrella (Deflector), Positive, Top-Hat, Metal Clad, Ring, Spring
-
Materials such as nylon, nitrile (NBR/Buna N), polyacrylate, silicone, Viton and Teflon
-
-
Safe for use in ATVs, motorcycles, and wet clutches
Dosage:
-
500 ml treats 4–6 liters of engine oil
-
For differing oil volumes: use a 10% mixing ratio
How it works:
Modern engines often experience high oil consumption due to increased compression, higher operating temperatures, and more demanding technology. Over time, seals dry out and become brittle, especially in high-mileage engines or those with many operating hours.
Rislone Oil Seal™ uses special synthetic polymers and additives that:
-
Softens and restores seals
-
Reduces oil loss
-
Prevents further consumption
Typical problems the product solves:
✔ Blue exhaust smoke
✔ Need to top up oil between oil changes
✔ Smoke on cold start
✔ Dried or cracked valve stem seals
✔ Low oil level / warning light
✔ Worn valve guides
✔ High mileage or many operating hours
Background & Examples of Affected Car Models:
According to consumer surveys and workshop data (e.g., from the USA and Sweden), many cars suffer from high oil consumption. Here are some of the most well-known cases:
Audi TFSI (1.8 & 2.0)
A3, A4, A5, A6, TT, Q5, Q7 – known for piston failures causing extreme oil consumption.
"One customer used 8 liters of oil in 1500 km!" (Hoffsten Motor)
Volkswagen TSI
Golf, Jetta, Passat, Tiguan, etc. – known piston problems in 2.0 TSI.
BMW
V8 and certain 6-cylinder engines (e.g., 4.4L, 4.8L, and 3.0L) – high consumption reported in 3, 5, 6, 7-series as well as X1–X5.
Subaru
2.0L, 2.5L, and 3.6L engines – especially Forester, Impreza, Legacy, Outback.
Volvo T5/T6 (2009–2015)
Reported cases of piston ring replacement at 50,000 km. Diesel versions can get fuel in the oil leading to uncontrolled engine operation.
Toyota & Honda (2007–2011)
Models such as Camry, Corolla, RAV4, CR-V, Accord – known for high consumption, partly due to defective piston rings.
Customer Testimonials / Real-life Quotes:
“My car guzzles oil – I have to top up every other week, even with long-life oil at 200 NOK/liter!”
“To dare to go on vacation, you need to have a 5-liter oil can in the trunk.”
“Oil consumption of 3–4 liters per 1,000 km is 'normal,' says the workshop – that's insane!”
